    Shooters, I’d like to invite you all to attend the 26th Annual Sportsman’s Team Challenge National Championship match this June 7th – 9th . With the closure of the NSC’s Rifle and Pistol Ranges Sportsman’s Team Challenge Association (STCA) has been forced to relocate the match. Our new host range is Best of the West Shooting Sports a facility which boasts ample space for each steel event to be held in a separate fully bermed bay allowing each stage to function individually. The shotgun course of fire will once again be set on property and will have easy drive up access similar to that which we previously enjoyed in San Antonio. The range is located 14 miles West of Georgetown from I-35 take Hwy 29 and you will find the range on your right just after you past through Liberty Hill (see Map link below). We are working on new relationships in Georgetown and Liberty Hill to provide hotel room blocks (and discounted rates) as well as RV park rates and will post those as soon as they are available on www.ShootSTC.com and www.Facebook.com/ShootSTC. STCA continues to pride ourselves in the quality and efficiency of the match as well as the sponsorship in both merchandise and cash that we are able to bring to the prize table. We expect to retain a majority of the sponsors from 2012 and have been able to bring some new sponsors onboard most notably Fiocchi ammunition. Sponsors will be updated on the STCA website as we confirm their participation subsequent to our meetings at SHOT Show. Please take time to review those companies who support our sport and return the favor when it comes time to purchase guns, ammo and accessories.

    For those of you who have competed in Sportsman’s Team Challenge matches in the past, we would like to welcome you back, and for shooters who are looking for a new event to participate in, we welcome you to one of the most exciting and challenging shooting events available. Competing as a 2 or 3 person team, you will need to master all three major shooting disciplines (rifle, pistol and shotgun) while working against the clock and targets that require varied levels of precision. Team Challenge does, however, offer many different divisions in which shooters can compete so that teams will be challenged by other teams with similar skill levels to maintain a positive level of competition (classifications from Sub Junior all the way up to Industry Open – Professionals).

    For our new competitors we offer an introductory division in which to compete and make available at each regional our Loaner Gun program which includes a full complement of competition quality gear (Ruger, Caspian, Remington, Beretta, McMillan, Kidd, Timney, Leupold, Burris, Sightron, Clark Custom, Tactical Solutions, Lapua and Black Hills). This equipment is available to all competitors and has been provided by our industry sponsors to alleviate the initial outlay for competition quality gear..

    Listed below are the Regionals we have currently scheduled. In addition to the traveling steel targets, we have added LaPorte shotgun traps to the traveling trailer which will be available at a nominal cost to any club looking to host a Team Challenge match or regional. As new regionals are scheduled they will be posted under the Regionals tab on our website and also on our Facebook page..

Rule Updates:2010
• Sub Jr. A & B Rules: Rifle and combo will be revised to include all targets in the course of fire with standard point value for targets (same as all other classes).
• Combo: 10 ea. 4” circles will be set at 25 yards and 5 ea. 4” circles will be set at 35 yards.
• Pistol: Precision plates (4” squares) 10 ea. at 30 yd and 2 ea. at 20 yd. No change in time limits, running provision for medical necessity remains an option.
• Shotgun: times will remain consistent by classification from the preliminary round through the finals round (no change to times from prior year).
• Tie Breaker: Should a tie exist for teams going into the finals we will draw from a hat which includes all six events as possible tie breakers, if after the first event is drawn and shot both teams remain tied we will draw again from the remaining 5 events and so on until the tie is broken.

We look forward to seeing everyone in San Antonio once again and will be sending further details and an itinerary for the match, though it will be consistent with prior years.
